Hash Generator
Generate modern SHA-2 digests from UTF-8 text with the Web Crypto API, without uploading the input.
Local processing. Your data stays in this browser.
SHA-2 is suitable for integrity checks, but use Argon2id, scrypt, or bcrypt for passwords.
How to use it
- Select a SHA-2 algorithm.
- Enter the text to hash.
- Copy the hexadecimal digest.
Example
Input
NamincOutput
A deterministic hexadecimal digest for the chosen algorithm.
Common questions
- Can a hash be decrypted?
- A cryptographic hash is one-way, but weak or reused inputs may still be guessed with dictionary or brute-force attacks.
- Should I hash passwords with SHA-256?
- No. Password storage should use a slow, salted password hashing function such as Argon2id, scrypt, or bcrypt.
